Our Supporters
Dunbar Early Learning Center is a day care and early learning center for low-income students that is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Families pay a modest fee to send their children to Dunbar, but 75% of our operating expenses must be raised through other sources, including grants and individual donations.
Dunbar Early Learning Center is a designated 501c3 charitable organization.
Charitable support is essential in helping us to:
-
bridge the gap between the minimal tuition families pay and the true cost to care and educate each child.
-
provide program and facility improvements.
Community Partners
Dunbar Early Learning Center embodies the ancient proverb “It takes a village to raise a child.”
We owe a great debt to local nonprofit organizations, churches, county agencies and local businesses for their steadfast commitment and generosity. Because of these community partners, Dunbar children receive the best possible start in life.
We are deeply grateful to the following groups for their generous financial support in helping us meet annual operating costs:

Children’s Services Council of Martin County
Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties
Early Learning Coalition of Indian River, Martin & Okeechobee Counties
First United Methodist Church of Hobe Sound
Hobe Sound Community Chest
National Christ Child Society of Stuart
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church
St. Christopher’s Catholic Church
The Community Foundation Martin - St. Lucie
United Way of Martin County
We are deeply grateful to the following groups for their generous in-kind donations that have provided vital goods and services over the years:

Computer Network Services, Jensen Beach
Council on Aging of Martin County
Electronic Security, Hobe Sound
Jupiter Island Garden Club
Metro Fire & Sprinkler, Stuart

Volunteer
All community members are invited to visit Dunbar and consider a volunteer role, such as:
-
You and/or your grade school or teenage child can enrich your lives and those of our kids by READING or putting on PUPPET SHOWS for our children.

-
Parents can play a special role in the lives of their children and classroom siblings by volunteering for just an hour or two a week. Many have so much fun in the classroom they want to stay longer or come more often

-
Perhaps you have experience with FUND RAISING, MARKETING or PUBLIC RELATIONS and would be willing to share your knowledge and skills with us.

-
If you are interested in taking on a broader role in the success of Dunbar’s children, your contribution as a member of our BOARD OF DIRECTORS, particularly if you have accounting, law, early childhood education or public relations experience will be a vital part of our mission.
